Carla Gannis Post-Thoughts
What did I think about Carla Gannis' Presentation? Well I thought she was very thorough and very personable with what she was addressing. She is very well established in design and has much information to give out and share with the world not only through her work but also through her speeches. The biggest thing that stood out to me when she spoke was that she said that everything was original. Do no take something from someone exactly and put your name to it, but you can take someone's idea and work on it from there. Try to evolve it and enhance it to be your very own original project. She is very familiar with motion graphics as I was able to tell from her flash presentation. She finished off her presentation with a couple of game designs that can be found on different web sites that she produced. Some of them weren't even for a company, or the job she worked for. Some were actually just based on things she was interested in that she did in her free time. That being said she taught me a valuable lesson: you should do things that make you happy as well as your job. Whatever is your passion to just make it your job, do it for yourself too. Make sure you create things that aren't just for a company but also your own work of art.
